What we do
Christian Schools Australia fosters
leadership, growth and excellence in Christian school education.
Its membership includes 150 schools
nationally, with more than 60,000 students and 3,000 teaching staff.
CSA’s commitment is to see Christian
beliefs and values impact on all aspects of practice and community life in its
member schools .
With Biblically based beliefs as our
foundation CSA provides leadership, services and resources for its members, and
generally works to advance the cause of Christian schooling.
Member Schools
The membership of CSA includes approx. 150 schools Australia wide.
Like our
nation the schools and their communities are diverse: from small schools in
remote rural communities to large metropolitan schools in major cities.
Each day around 60,000 students and 3,000 staff grow and learn together in
CSA schools.
Serving together, under Christ
CSA sees itself as an interdependent network of schools.
Through their participation in CSA, schools are contributing to the progress
of other schools and the Christian school movement.
Through their membership they are ensuring the Christian school voice is heard
and has an impact on policy and public debate.
CSA's organisational structure – its executive officers throughout Australia
– both provide direct service to schools and help enable a network of support
through the membership.
Rather than independent, or dependent, CSA views the
relationship between its schools and organisational wing as inter-dependent.
This is a Biblical model in which we acknowledge that our relational purpose
and commonality depend entirely on our commitment to follow Christ:
“From him
the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and
builds itself up in love, as each part does its work” (Ephesians 4:16).
CSA sees itself as a "supporting ligament".
Connections, Services, Resources, Policy
CSA facilitates connections between member
schools for personal and professional development.
We provide direct services to assist our members and
resources to aid in their educational,
administrative and governance needs.
CSA has a leading role in the public policy
debate ensuring the voice of Christian schools is heard and informing members
about issues which affect them.
Each of these roles is reflected in this website.
Brief history
CSA commenced operations in 2002, an amalgamation of two former associations -
Christian Community Schools and Christian Schools Association of Queensland –
and a number of schools not previously in association membership.
CSA was formed
to provide greater unity and strength to the Christian school voice.
Today it is
Australia’s largest association of non-systemic Christian schools.
