    2014 NAPLAN summary (preliminary) Released

    The 2014 NAPLAN preliminary findings conclude that “overall student achievement has remained stable across over the 2008–2014 and 2013–14 periods, with some increases in reading and grammar and punctuation across the 2008–2014 period, and a slight decline in writing

    Understanding Your Payment Advice

    The July instalment of Commonwealth funding has been adjusted to reflect updated 2013 SEA and ELP data. Schools must bear in mind the importance of the parent background data collected at enrolment and/or in conjunction with the annual NAPLAN testing as this data is used to generate the SEA and ICSEA scores now used in funding calculations.

    The role of a support person in discussions with staff

    Employees generally have a right, on request, to have a support person with them when they attend meetings with their employers where the meeting relates to performance management or an investigation and particularly where there is the potential for dismissal from employment. The role of a support person is specifically stated to be a factor to take into account in deciding if a dismissal from employment is harsh, unjust or unreasonable.
