CSA has designed an architecture or framework called, 2020 Horizon and Beyond, which seeks to conceptualise the essential elements that make a Christian school distinct and leads it onto a path of maturity.

CSA Architecture: 2020 Horizon and Beyond

CSA has now moved from the 2019 CSA Architecture document to the 2020 Horizon and Beyond document. Where the CSA Architecture focused on the retention of a Christian Distinctive through the adoption of six levers, the 2020 Horizon and Beyond document seeks to frame Christian education in terms of stages of development and maturity. The new conceptualisation recognises that schools are on a pathway to maturity and have varying needs, depending on the age and stage of their community.

2020 Horizon & Beyond explained

Hear from CEO, Dr. Daniel Pampuch as he explains the 2020 Horizon and Beyond conceptualisation, which uses a metaphor of a flight deck with you in the position of the pilot's seat. Daniel explores the changing generations within schools and the need to be explicit and intentional in terms of the new “vision carriers” in our organisations and further unpacks the flight deck metaphor addressing the various “horizons” to be encountered on the pathway to maturity, and the tools available to you to navigate the flight before you. The 2020 Horizon and Beyond framework is be the basis of all new CSA resources and services going into the future.

Architecture Levers

Continuing with the flight deck metaphor, there are a number of levers that control elements and speed of the plane. Similarly, there are levers within a school that can be moved and actioned to make a Christian school distinct. CSA believes that there are 6 elements (or levers) central to building and embedding a Christian Distinctive throughout the school. Click on one of the levers below to find resources related to this topic or learn more about each of these levers.

Proclaim and Profess Statements

Our hope for Christian schooling, is that, by operating as effective, missionally-focussed schools, a vision of the Kingdom and Father’s heart, both individually and corporately, is being painted. At CSA, we seek to move away from the posture of what we are against (ie. protesting), to a place of painting a vision of the way we believe God sees how things could and should be (ie. professing). We seek to profess this vision for a better society and world. What is this abundant life that Jesus speaks of? What is this Kingdom come?

We have intentionally placed a Proclaim Statement at the peak of the architecture, which provides a strong theological platform for the other dimensions of the architecture to be understood.

CSA has also developed 5 Profess Statements, which are the reminders of what we are trying to achieve. These are the items we seek to aim for, to target, and to be part of delivering to our own community and society at large. These 5 profess statements seek to help keep our focus outwards and to ensure we adopt a restorative posture.
