Schools would be very aware of the increasing challenges to Christian schools around issues that were once matters of uncontested Christian belief. Courts and Tribunals are increasingly scrutinising the Christian doctrines and beliefs which underpin the operations of Christian Schools. The first document likely to be considered in this process is the organisation’s Constitution.
You will not be able to retrospectively claim beliefs in the event of litigation that cannot be supported by your school Constitution. It is essential that you capture the key doctrines, tenets and beliefs on which the school wants to operate, as well as put in place the building blocks to ensure that you are considered to be a ‘religious body’ or ‘religious educational institution’.
Our model constitution is designed for that purpose, to ensure that you have a strong foundation.
The 2021 Model Constitution Toolkit contains -
* Model Constitution for a Church Governed School
* Model Constitution for a Community Governed School
* Guide to the CSA Model Constitutions
The Toolkit is in a compressed (zipped) folder. Updated 17 February 2021 (See Guide for details of changes) | 15/03/2021 12:00:00 AM | Governance Resources: 2021 Model Constitution Toolkit |
The aim of Missional Governance: Boards that Transform is to provide school boards with an opportunity to step back – just for a moment – and evaluate the "why" behind what they do. Learn more about this transformational program. | | Missional Governance: Boards that Transform |
What does CSA profess in relationship with Australia's first people?
That we seek to develop more than just a narrative with our indigenous brothers and sisters. As First and Second Peoples, we strive to journey together, creating socially just and equitable relationships and listening to and learning from one another.
This is why we are so proud of CSA's association with CAPS - Christian Aboriginal Parent-directed Schools.
We support their staff and leadership team to deliver educational solutions, equipping their students to flourish in life in a manner and model that fits their context and needs.
Asking the questions: Can we as Christian educators, go beyond the classroom, the teaching of lessons and model Jesus with real and authentic lives? Can we show caring and genuine practice as we meet our young people at their point of need? Encouraging them to build wellness, wholeness and resilience and encourage them to step into who they have been called to be? | | Modes and Models of Schooling |
This project involved the development of a course consisting of four units. The units developed by Vose College (WA) and Morling College (NSW) and registered through the Australian College of Theology. This would then mean that the programme could be delivered at their accredited colleges across Australia.
The four units are:
Opening the Book
The first bit (the Hebrew Bible)
The second bit (about Jesus)

Amongst other purposes, Christian schools aim to equip students to embrace biblical truth, strive for academic excellence and model Christ-like leadership to influence their homes, churches and communities for Christ. These aims require consistent development of key characteristics of Christian education; that it is biblically-based, Christocentric, incarnational, service-oriented, and redemptive.
CSA has developed PeRL resources focused on the theories and practices of pedagogies enabling redemptive learning. On this page, you will find tools and resources to equip you in your role as you seek to carry out the mission and aim of your Christian school. Some of these resources were released at the 2021 CSA State Conferences and we hope you enjoy exploring the specific approaches: Connection, Inclusion, Justice and Voice of PeRL: Pedagogies enabling Redemptive Learning. | 13/07/2021 12:00:00 AM | PeRL | Pedagogies enabling Redemptive Learning |
