Isobel Marshall Joins SA for Leadership Dinner

We are really excited to have Isobel Marshall join us at the South Australian CSA State Conference Leadership Dinner on 19 July. Earlier this year, Isobel was recognised as the Young Australian of the Year for the work she is doing to help girls and women around the world. From an idea that was birthed while she was still at school, and at just 18 years of age, Isobel co-founded TABOO with the vision of providing better access to hygiene products. Not only do TABOO sell high-quality products to the local market, they direct 100% of their profits to education programs for girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda. In addition, they partner with the Vinnies Women’s Crisis centre in Adelaide and support the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women’s Council. On top of all of this, Isobel is studying a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide.

It is a real privilege to have such a remarkable young woman come and share some of her story, and to help inspire us, as we seek to shape the young people in our schools to have an impact in the world. Isobel will have the opportunity to address some of the challenges and opportunities she has had as a young woman in leadership, and to reflect on how her Christian faith has shaped her as a leader. Importantly, for those of us involved in the formation of young people, with a desire to see them partner with God is his restorative mission, Isobel will help us consider how we are preparing the next generation for leadership.
