Consultation on further changes to ACT Education Act

The ACT Government is considering further reforms reforms to the Territory's Education Act 2004, regarding enrolments and attendance and distance education.

The Government is seeking feedback on a range of amendments to the Act which they indicate will:

  • clarify school enrolment requirements,
  • modernise participation and attendance requirements to reflect the different methods of delivery of education and attendance at educational programs,
  • strengthen enrolment, attendance, and participation provisions to minimise the risk of children and young people disappearing from the education system, and
  • outline requirements for distance education.

They have released discussion papers about the reforms being considered in relation to:
