Biblical Studies Training Day

Join us for a leader's training day designed to help you consider the ways your school can really engage students in a lasting and meaningful way with the Bible. 

Bring your team and come ready to practically map out (or edit) a Bible Studies or Christian Living program for your school. 

Learn with expert and thought leader, Dr John Collier, Dean of Morling Education, whose passion is to engage young people in authentic and critical thinking to develop well-rounded young people who will become successful adults and active citizens.

Event Information

This training day for teachers and leaders of Christian Education/Biblical Studies will involve practical sessions of learning, networking and some time for informal conversations.

This event is ideally suited to chaplains, teachers and leaders of biblical studies, as well as school leaders who are wishing to be involved in a refresh of your school's Christian Living program.

  • 10.45am Session 1 - part 2
  • 12:00pm Lunch
  • 1:00pm Practical Session 1 - Part 1

  • 2:20pm Practical Session 1 - Part 2
  • 3:15pm Wrap day and closing comments
  • 3:30pm Informal Conversations


Your Host, Dave Stevens

Dave Stevens serves as the Executive Officer, WA and leads the national portfolio of, Modes and Models of Schooling. Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having taught and held leadership roles in a range of schools nationally and internationally. Dave’s knowledge across a broad range of specialist areas, educational sectors and contexts, is evidenced in his ability to develop alternative programs that meet the needs of the students and teachers, whilst addressing the requirements of legislation. His passion for Relational Schools assists all schools in student wellness and retention.

Speaker, Dr. John Collier

John Collier is now the Dean of Morling Education after serving as principal for over 3 decades in multiple schools. Amongst many accolades, he is a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators and the Australian Council for Educational Leaders. John's passion is to engage young people in authentic and critical thinking, and the development of well-rounded young people who will become successful adults and active citizens. His recent PhD thesis focused on the the lack of impact of Christian schools are having on the lifelong values of their students.

Qualify for CPD Hours

At the conclusion of this event, a certificate of professional learning will be made available to attendees, for self-accreditation via your member dashboard, and will address the following AITSL professional teacher and leadership standards:

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to the Event Organiser. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued after 7 days out from the event. Any cancellations made after this date will be charged the full registration fee. 'No Shows' to the event will be charged the full registration fee. 

The event program is subject to change and we may not be able to provide prior notice.

Please note that registration fees do not include insurance to cover loss of any fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the event or through cancellation of the event itself.

A full refund will be issued if the event is cancelled by the organiser (CSA) due to COVID-19 restrictions or any other reasons out of the organisers control.

Check-in: Please ensure you check-in at the venue, via school reception, upon arrival.

Vaccination Notice: All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Government directive. Masks are not required to be worn, but please feel free to wear a mask for your own health and safety.
