Induction to Christian Schooling for Graduates

This induction program is ideally suited to teaching staff who are new to the profession and working in a Christian School for the first time. Utilising Flourish: A Vision of Christian Schooling (CSA’s Staff Induction Program) the event will explore vision, purpose, culture and practice and give some insight as to how this could play out in each school. There will also be an opportunity for open discussion regarding some of the questions and challenges faced by graduate teachers as they commence their careers.

Speakers

Your Host: Dr Maria Varlet

Maria is the new CSA Executive Officer, VIC/TAS. Maria’s work in CSA schools has been broad and included: Northside CC, Flinders CCC and Hillcrest CC/CREST. She was also one of the foundational Executive Officers for CSA spanning the years of 2002 to 2008.

Maria is highly qualified academically obtaining a Doctor of Education from the Australian Catholic University; Master of Education from the University of Melbourne; two Bachelor degrees in Education and Educational Leadership, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Media Studies.

Her passion is in the areas of teachers’ professional growth and development. Maria has also investigated closely the role ethos, assessment and professional learning play in the Christian school context. Maria is an excellent networker and has deep connections both nationally and internationally in the areas of Christian education, female leadership and research.

Qualify for CPD Hours

Following the event a certificate of professional learning will be made available to attendees. This certificate can be found on your member dashboard.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to the Event Organiser.

No refunds will be issued after 5 days out from the event. Any cancellations made after this date will be charged the full registration fee. 'No Shows' to the event will be charged the full registration fee.

The event program is subject to change and we may not be able to provide prior notice.

Registration fees do not include insurance to cover loss of any fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the event or through cancellation of the event itself. A full refund will be issued if the event is cancelled by the organiser (CSA) due to COVID-19 restrictions or any other reasons out of the organisers control.
