CSA VIC New to Christian Schooling Induction

CSA VIC New to Christian Schooling Induction

This training seeks to empower staff in Christian schools to embrace their purpose and mission to bring the message of Jesus, through education, to a world in need. We look forward to welcoming members and non-members, who may be new to Christian schooling, to this event.

Speakers

Your Host: Dr. Rob Loe

Rob has been serving as the Executive Officer, VIC/TAS since May 2020. He has a background in teaching, school leadership and research. Rob believes passionately that a Christian school’s ethos cannot be divorced from the outcomes it seeks for its students (which must be more than academic). That ethos should make a deeply positive impact on the day-to-day lived reality of corridors and classrooms. It is the most powerful form of witness from a school. Rob has a national portfolio role that reflects his significant experience and research interests: Organisational Culture and Community Development.

Guest Speaker: Mark Ryan, EO South Australia, CSA

Mark Ryan has been part of the CSA team since 2019 in the role of Executive Officer, SA. Mark has previous experience in leadership roles at Temple Christian College and, with degrees in both education and theology, held pastoral roles in a number of churches. Mark serves as a Director on the Board of Compass and with such an excellent grasp of biblical literacy, worldview and its application to culture, learning and vocation, is well-placed to lead CSA's national portfolio of Christian Formation.

Workshop Speaker: Emily Haegi, Australians Together

Emily’s a former high-school teacher with over six years’ classroom experience. In 2020 she decided to step out of the classroom and explore what had become her passion – helping other teachers embed First Nations cultures, histories and perspectives. She is currently the Curriculum Resources Coordinator at Australians Together’s and heads up the curriculum resources development, working alongside a team of writers, reviewers, cultural collaborators, editors and designers, to create a vast range of engaging classroom resources. Emily’s passion is not only to help teachers, but also to see students' gain a deeper interest in and respect for First Nations cultures, histories and perspectives.

Workshop Presenter: Nicole Rietveld, Waverley Christian College

Nicole is the Director of Teaching and Learning at Waverley Christian College.
