PAs and Admins - HR101 Training Day

As the front face of the school, you are often the first to experience many tricky issues.

Join us with HR experts, Charlene Woodbine and Nevellene Linquist, for a hands-on look at the must know HR topics and develop skills to handle them well.

There will also be an opportunity for our regional school staff to join virtually (see Registration Options, below).

Event Information

This training day for Administrators and Personal Assistants will involve practical sessions of learning, networking and some time for informal conversations over lunch.

Program Outline

An outline of the program is provided below:

  • 9:30am Welcome and opening prayer
  • 10:00am Session 1 with Charlene Woodbine
  • 11:00am Morning Tea
  • 11:30am Interactive Session 2 with table discussions and reverse Q&A with Charlene Woodbine and Nevellene Linquist
  • 12:30pm Lunch and informal networking
  • 1:00pm Close of Training Day

Registration Options

There are two reigstration options for this event and you will need to select one upon registration. Please choose from either of the following:

  • In Person Registration to attend the event in person: $50+GST for members and $65+GST for non-members
  • Regional Registration to join the event virtually: free for members and $20+GST for non-members

Speakers

Your Host, Dave Stevens

Dave Stevens serves as the Executive Officer, WA and leads the national portfolio of, Modes and Models of Schooling. Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having taught and held leadership roles in a range of schools nationally and internationally. Dave’s knowledge across a broad range of specialist areas, educational sectors and contexts, is evidenced in his ability to develop alternative programs that meet the needs of the students and teachers, whilst addressing the requirements of legislation. His passion for Relational Schools assists all schools in student wellness and retention.

Speaker, Charlene Woodbine

Charlene is a legally trained HR practitioner with over 17 years experience in providing strategic advice on employee and industrial relations matters. Charlene has worked across various industries across both state and federal jurisdictions. She excels in; drafting HR policies and procedures that are aligned with organisational strategic goals, leading change management processes and building positive workplace culture by leading culture workshops.

Speaker, Nevellene Linquist

Nevellene is the director of Human Resources at Carey Baptist College. She works with leaders to create a workplace where people are supported to pursue and achieve their areas of passion and expertise, to contribute to a higher purpose and most importantly to feel joy and impact in their work. Nevellene believes that a culture of trust, support and accountability underpinned by values is also a high performing culture.

Qualify for CPD Hours

At the conclusion of this event, a certificate of professional learning will be made available to attendees, for self-accreditation via your member dashboard, and will address the following AITSL professional teacher and leadership standards:

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to the Event Organiser. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued after 7 days out from the event. Any cancellations made after this date will be charged the full registration fee. 'No Shows' to the event will be charged the full registration fee. 

The event program is subject to change and we may not be able to provide prior notice.

Please note that registration fees do not include insurance to cover loss of any fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the event or through cancellation of the event itself.

A full refund will be issued if the event is cancelled by the organiser (CSA) due to COVID-19 restrictions or any other reasons out of the organisers control.

We are committed to the health and safety of our member community and are following government guidelines regarding the spread of COVID-19.

Check-in: Please ensure you check-in at the venue, via school reception, upon arrival.

Vaccination Notice: All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Government directive. Masks are not required to be worn, but please feel free to wear a mask for your own health and safety.
