You are invited to the inaugural annual QLD FLAME Dinner celebrating and enabling female leaders in Christian schooling. Come for a special night of networking, sharing of story and lovely food, and hear from well known educational leader Ronwyn Collier. Additionally, listen as our panel of emerging and experienced female leaders in Christian schooling here in Queensland share their experiences of challenge and success. 

This event is suite to all female Leaders in Christian Schooling, including those serving on boards, executive leaders, middle and emerging leaders, teaching and non-teaching staff; aspiring Leaders, as well as male leaders who champion and support women in leadership in Christian schooling.

Event Information

You will experience a lovely two-course buffet dinner, with a cash bar available for alcoholic and non-alcoholic and drinks.

We have also negotiated a special reduced price for those who would like to stay overnight at one of two hotels. Please see the accommodation section, below, for more information about your access to the special rate.

Speakers

Your Host, Katie York

Katie York is currently serving as the Executive Assistant to the Principal at Caloundra Christian College on the Sunshine Coast, a school she once attended as a child. She was profoundly impacted by Christian Education which was a catalyst for her journey to faith. Early in her career, she discovered a gift for administration while working in IT Support for Education Queensland. Later, she was called to serve at C3 Church as a Personal Assistant & IT Manager before returning to education 3 years ago. Katie loves getting things done, preferably with no-code automation and a nice cup of tea.

Panel Facilitator, Lisa Coles

Lisa Coles is Executive Principal of Arethusa College, a special assistance school that seeks to bring the best out of students who have had disrupted, often traumatic learning journeys. Arethusa is a large, rapidly growing independent College with 7 campuses spread across South East Queensland. Initially working as a paediatric Physiotherapist in both educational and medical settings, Lisa went on to fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. She now has a Master of Educational Studies and has worked in a wide variety of State, Independent and Christian schools. She is passionate about leadership and learning and Grace wherever she finds it. She has special interests in spiritual formation after trauma, pedagogy that motivates, and individualised, personalised learning done in community.

Speaker, Ronwyn Collier

Ronwyn Collier is the Principal of The Sycamore School, a school that provides specialist support and education to young people on the autism spectrum. She is an experienced educator with more than twenty years in various leadership positions across childcare and primary school. Supporting students with special needs has been a high priority throughout her career. Alongside her husband, Neale, Ronwyn also pastors the Mount Cotton Community Fellowship. In 2015, as a family they have started the mission ‘The Library Project –Vanuatu’ which aims to put a library in every school in Vanuatu to increase literacy in this beautiful South Pacific country. To date over 50 libraries have already been installed in rural villageswith tremendous results.

Qualify for CPD Hours

This event does not qualify for CPD hours.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to the Event Organiser. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued after 30 days out from the event. Any cancellations made after this date will be charged the full registration fee. 'No Shows' to the event will be charged the full registration fee. 

The event program is subject to change and we may not be able to provide prior notice.

Please note that registration fees do not include insurance to cover loss of any fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the event or through cancellation of the event itself.

A full refund will be issued if the event is cancelled by the organiser (CSA) due to COVID-19 restrictions or any other reasons out of the organisers control.
