WA Principals' Refresh Day

This REFRESH day brings together highly experienced professionals in WA Christian Schooling for a time of reflection, refreshment and encouragement.

The in-person event is open to tailored to Principals of CSA member schools.

Come along and;

*be encouraged to keep your Christ-centred mission focus,

*reflect on your own leadership and and explore if you are fostering a environment of trust,

*consider how to build a culture of shalom in your schools, and

*uncover if you are a leader who is a stirrer or a saint - or both.

Plus - help us to farewell our outgoing Executive Officer, Dave Stevens.

 

Event Information

This is an in-person, members-only event and is tailored especially to Principals and senior school leaders.

Breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided on the day.

You will be given an option to specify dietary requirements at registration.

In addition to the day's program, we will also be celebrating our outgoing State Executive Officer, Dave Stevens - please do come and help us farewell him!

They day commences at 8am and concludes at 3.30pm.

Speakers

Dr Tania Watson

Through her work, Tania seeks to help people see and better understand the context in which they live and work. Seeing and understanding are key tools in helping people to live and work together in ways that best contribute to the flourishing of organisations and communities. Tania works as an Executive Minister at a large independent church in WA, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and is an accredited Professional Ministry Supervisor (AAOS). She sits on multiple boards, and is an experienced leader at the executive level. Through her doctoral work and ongoing practice, Tania has developed a set of relational, organisational and leadership frameworks that seek to empower people and organisations in their leadership growth.

Dr Brian Harris

Brian is the founding director of the AVENIR Leadership Institute, offer coaching, facilitation of Board Retreats and strategic planning, guidance for culture reviews and more. They also run a leadership ecosystem which helps to train and mentor current and emerging leaders. Prior to AVENIR, Brian was for 17 years the principal of Vose Seminary. He continues to be engaged in theological education as a Director of the Australian College of Theology, and is a distinguished visiting international scholar of Spurgeon’s College in the UK. In addition to over 30 academic papers, Brian has written seven books for a wider audience. His latest book, Stirrers and Saints: Forming Spiritual Leaders of Skill, Depth and Character, is due to be released by Paternoster in June 2024.

Kathryn Button

Kathryn is the Director of Christian School Global Connect and has extensive experience in leadership in Christian and government schools, most recently as the Senior School Principal at Tyndale Christian School in South Australia. She is passionate about global mission and service, and is keen to expand the global vision of schools, and to develop relationships and opportunities for growing Christian education across the globe.

 

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to the Event Organiser. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued after 7 days out from the event. Any cancellations made after this date will be charged the full registration fee. 'No Shows' to the event will be charged the full registration fee. 

The event program is subject to change and we may not be able to provide prior notice.

Please note that registration fees do not include insurance to cover loss of any fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the event or through cancellation of the event itself.

A full refund will be issued if the event is cancelled by the organiser (CSA) due to COVID-19 restrictions or any other reasons out of the organisers control.

Qualify for CPD Hours

At the conclusion of this event, a certificate of professional learning will be made available to attendees for self-accreditation via your member dashboard. The event will address the following AITSL professional teacher and leadership standards: 

» 7.1 - Meet professional ethics and responsibilities 
» 7.2 - Comply with legislative, administrative and organisational requirements

With Christian Distinctive Focus:

» 7B - Contributes to the development of distinctive Christian practice in the school, profession and community
