Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2021

1 July 2021

NAIDOC Week: 4 - 11 July 2021

NAIDOC Week is an important annual event that invites everyone to celebrate the histories, cultures and achievements of First Nations people.

The 2021 theme, Heal Country!, calls for stronger measures to protect and maintain all aspects of First Nations cultures and heritages.  The NAIDOC Week Committee is calling on all Australians to seek greater protections for the lands, waters, sacred sites and cultural heritage of our First Nations people.  Their call is to end the exploitation, desecration, and destruction of these areas and heritage.

Schools can play an important role in the annual event by helping students learn about and celebrate this year’s theme. To learn more about the week our friends at Australians Together have prepared a range of NAIDOC Week 2021 themed teaching resources, available on their website.

Our CSA Profess Statement: First Peoples Heart may also be useful in guiding responses.
