Spaces still available at the Symposium Day  |  Thursday, 30 May 2024

This event is being held on different days in 2024

Once again Christian school leaders will gather from ALL over the nation for the 2024 Christian Schools National Policy Forum. Plan now to join us in Canberra as we gather together in person, to network and connect with other school leaders for dialogue around key issues confronting Christian education. This will be a great opportunity to bring your team to see, at a glance, the bigger picture of Christian education in Australia.

Additionally, we will be hosting our Gala Cocktail Reception at Mural Hall, Parliament House. This change of venue in 2024 will provide a unique opportunity to invite your local MP to 'drop-in' and say hello, whilst enjoying some refreshments. We've made the process easier for you and provided a draft invitation for you to customise. You can download the invitation here.

National Policy Forum

Anchoring our time together at the Forum will be the internationally renowned Christian educator, Professor Trevor Cooling. Other highlights of the Forum will be discussions around the recent review to create ‘A Better and Fairer Education System’, how we can effectively govern our schools and keep them authentic in our current culture and how Christian schools can better engage and utilise the research being developed by AERO, the Australian Educational Research Organisation. Of course, there will be a national legislative update and we are looking to conclude with an inspirational challenge for Christian schools to be part of telling a better story to our nation from former Deputy Prime Minister, John Anderson – who is not to be missed.

Both the Education Minister and Shadow Education Minister are expected to join us at the Tuesday evening Gala Reception in Mural Hall at Parliament House.

Symposium

Following the Forum itself, will be a not-to-be-missed Symposium on Thursday, 30 May. With changes to the Sex Discrimination Act and the Albanese Government’s religious discrimination bill anticipated to be the focus of political discussion the Symposium is not to be missed, as we do a deep-dive into the legal and media strategies schools can adopt to ensure you are best able to continue your vital mission. We have an outstanding line-up of some of the best lawyers and strategists in the country helping you to walk through all the critical issues and come out of the day confident about how you can not merely survive, but thrive in the new political, legal and cultural environment we face.

Speakers

The 2024 Christian Schools National Policy Forum and Symposium will see a wonderful line-up of speakers, some of which are highlighted, below. Bios on each of our speakers will be available at the event within the event app.
