Speaker, Leigh Witney
Leigh Witney is an Education Services Advisor (Curriculum and Assessment) at Independent Schools Queensland and works to support the 230-member independent school sector with curriculum and assessment across P – Year 12. She is a member of the QCAA P-10 Implementation Committee for revised Australian Curriculum and a member of the ACARA EAL/D Advisory Group. Leigh is a representative on other national panels in the ACARA Learning Area Networks for The Arts and HaSS (Geography and Economics and Business). Leigh has worked in education for over 20 years as a primary classroom teacher, Learning Support teacher, and as a consultant. She is passionate about curriculum and assessment. Leigh is a registered teacher, with tertiary qualifications from multiple universities: Bachelor of Arts, GDip.Ed, M.Ed. (Learning Support) and is a Doctoral Candidate at the Australian Catholic University, Brisbane. Leigh’s thesis (Teachers’ Affective Domain and Transformation in Team-based Learning) for the award of Doctor of Education has been examined and passed (2022) subject to amendments.
