Consider gathering together with fellow Christian school leaders from across the Asia Pacific reagion as we dive into the topic, Leadership Development.

Event Information

This virtual event will be held using Zoom technology and will include a range of speakers from our ACSI Asia Pacific schools. 

Registrations will be handled through Zoom and an invoice will be sent to you to cover the cost of attending. If you are concerned about the cost associated with this event, please ensure you let us know during the registration process. Alternatively, consider sponsoring a place for one of your colleagues. This can also be done at registration.

This event will be recorded and made available to registrants post-event.

Program Outline

The program will include presentations on our theme of Leadership Development, as well as case studies from a range of panel participants.

There will also be plenty of time and opportunity to engage in discussion. An outline of the program is provided below:

Speakers

Your Host - Sandra Scott

Sandra has a wealth of experience in Christian education and teacher training within Australia and beyond. From 2011 – 2018 she was the South Australia Executive Officer for Christian Schools Australia, with curriculum as her national portfolio. In 2019 Sandra co-developed and piloted the EAGLE teacher training program for ACSI India. Sandra’s passion is for high-quality, authentic Christian schools which are fertile places for the transformation of students’ hearts and minds. She loves to promote local and global connections and relationships, inspire teachers and leaders to embrace their high calling, and encourage quality mission and service activities.

Keynote | India - Dr. Mark Taylor

Mark is the founding National Director of ACSI India. It is estimated there are 15,000 Protestant schools in India. ACSI India seeks to strengthen Christian Schools and provide a national fellowship of Christian Schools that are stronger together. To accomplish these goals, the following programs will be offered in the coming years: Teacher training offered at three levels, governance and school leadership training, national and regional conferences, student leadership conferences, web-based resources for download, teacher recruitment assistance, guidance to legal consultancy for government compliance, resources and texts for Moral Science/Faith integration, and Global School Partnerships. Mark has established tuition-supported Christian schools in Southern India and West Bengal, represented private schools to the government of Tamil Nadu, spoken extensively at conferences in Europe, Australia, and the United States.

Keynote | Australia - Dr. Daniel Pampuch

Daniel has over 25 years’ experience in Christian Education. His role spans political advocacy, governance, strategic planning, resource development and service provision. His role centres on assisting schools to retain their Christian distinctive and missional focus, as well as guiding them on pathways to further maturity as ministries and centres of educational excellence. Daniel has served on a range of state and national educational boards and committees. Currently, he serves on the Global council of ACSI which supports 24,000 schools globally. Daniel has fellowships with the Governance Institute of Australia and Australian Institute of Management. He is a member of the Australian College of Education Leaders and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Keynote | Indonesia - Oh Yen Nie

Since June 2020, Yen Nie was entrusted to be the Dean of Faculty of Education at Pelita Harapan University in Indonesia, after some experiences developing teachers and leaders of Sekolah Dian Harapan and Sekolah Lentera Harapan around Indonesia. Before that for seven years, she served as Junior School Administrative Principal at Sekolah Pelita Harapan Indonesia. Currently she is pursuing a PhD in Transformational Learning at Asia Graduate School of Theology – Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary focusing on leadership development.

Case Study | China - Scott C. Shaw

Scott is Director of Coaching Services with LDi, and his areas of training include LDi’s Leader As Coach Workshop and Immunity To Change™ (developed by Harvard professors Drs. Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey). Scott has worked with LDi since 2005, serving first as an English teacher and director of LDi’s Changsha Language Training Center, then operating LDi’s Wuhan training office and serving as school board chair for Wuhan Yangtze International School. He has worked more than twenty years in China and frequently trains in Chinese. He loves developing people, and his passion is to help leaders overcome internal barriers to growth and change. He is married with three children and enjoys running, smoking meat, and roasting coffee.

Case Study | Australia - Jill Healey

Jill's portfolio within Christian Schools Australia is Leadership Development, serving as the Flame and Fuse Facilitator. Jill currently serves on two Christian school boards, is a Board member for Focus on the Family Australia and the Victorian Independent Schools Block Grant Authority. Jill is a champion of Christian women in leadership and specialist education provision in Christian schools. She believes in the power of God to transform lives and bring hope to young people through Christian schooling.

Qualify for CPD Hours / CE Units

This event will attract CPD hours (Australians only) according to the following AITSL professional teacher and leadership standards for self accreditation purposes:

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing to the Event Organiser.

No refunds will be issued after 3 days out from the event. Any cancellations made after this date will be charged the full registration fee. 'No Shows' to the event will be charged the full registration fee. 

The event program is subject to change without prior notice.

Registration fees do not include insurance to cover loss of any fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the event or through cancellation of the event itself.

A full refund will be issued if the event is cancelled by the organiser (CSA) due to COVID-19 restrictions or any other reasons out of the organisers control.
