QLD Flame Dinner | A Seat at the Table

QLD Flame Dinner | A Seat at the Table

Have you ever been invited into conversation and, once there, you’ve felt out of your depth and unwelcome? Perhaps even unsafe? As women leaders, we are called to pull-out a chair, take a seat, and engage – but sometimes it's not as easy to do as it sounds. If you have ever felt like this, you are not alone. Women all over the world face the same struggles.

You are invited to join us at the 2023 QLD FLAME Dinner, where Karen Wilson will be speaking to us from her global experience. Having just launched the Women Leaders Network, across the world, this network has rapidly grown to cohorts (like FLAME) in more than 16 countries. Gathering together to discuss women in leadership is about equipping, empowering and releasing leaders into all God has called them. Karen will share global stories and wisdom about how to navigate well the space of being a woman in leadership in the world.

Please join us for an amazing dinner, stimulating networking and a highly engaging and relevant message.

Speakers

Your Host, Katie York

Katie York is currently serving as the Executive Assistant to the Principal at Caloundra Christian College on the Sunshine Coast, a school she once attended as a child. She was profoundly impacted by Christian Education which was a catalyst for her journey to faith. Early in her career, she discovered a gift for administration while working in IT Support for Education Queensland. Later, she was called to serve at C3 Church as a Personal Assistant & IT Manager before returning to education 3 years ago. Katie loves getting things done, preferably with no-code automation and a nice cup of tea.

Special Guest, Karen Wilson

In almost every season of her life, Karen has found herself in positions of leadership which have included both pastoral and executive roles. She thoroughly enjoys all forms of communicating and has a pastoral, relational approach to leadership. Being raised in a ministry home, she has always had a love for others. She is energised by being with people and seeing them grow and develop to their full potential. Karen is very happily married to Mark and their son, Daniel and his wife, Julia and daughter Katie, and her husband Hayden are a constant source of encouragement to her. Daniel and Julia have just had a baby girl and Karen loves being a Grammy. Living life large is something this family has chosen to do and they love every minute of it!
