About the Research Project

Member schools from across the nation have participated in the 2023 Christian Schools Community Profile: Parent Survey, which was available to all school families with children enrolled in participating Christian schools. Over 6000 parents responded to the survey. This builds on the excellent parent sample (over 8500) received in the 2021 survey.

CSA will continue the longitudinal study into parents' perceptions of Christian education with the launch of the third instalment, the 2026 Christian School Community Profile: Parent Survey. It is anticipated the study will occur in Term 3, 2026.

Why Parents Choose Christian Schools

2026 Survey

It is anticipated the study will occur in Term 3, 2026. The cost will be ($695+GST) for schools.

The benefits for CSA members include:

  • An Individual 32 page School Report that identifies key school-based findings compared to national and state-based findings.
  • Comprehensive data findings on the perceptions, engagement, expectations, and decision- making of school parent communities.
  • Key demographic data on school parent communities.

Schools who did not participate in this survey in prior years can undertake the survey in 2026. Schools that have participated in the survey in previous years will not only have access to current data, but also longitudinal trends and benchmarks that can now be analysed and compared with their school’s previous survey results.

2023 Survey

CSA has now published its third important piece of national research on Christian schools that provides unprecedented understanding and insights regarding the parents that select Christian schools for their children. This comprehensive national study entitled Why Parents Choose Christian Schools: Christian Schools Community Profile Survey, involved 101 CSA Member schools from across the nation and collected data from 8,595 respondents. The survey investigated the perceptions and priorities of our Christian school families as well as their demographic profiles and the way they engage, support and interact with their school communities.

The full report provides, for the first time, national trends, themes, and benchmarks that are unique to CSA schools across the nation. The survey was unprecedented in both its size and scope and establishes important national baseline data regarding parents’ values, spirituality, engagement, decision-making, levels of satisfaction and personal perceptions and engagement across CSA member schools in Australia.
